Home sweet home

A blissful holiday. It's good to be back at my hometown.

A hearty meal. A quiet dinner with loved ones. A birthday party. A walk at the beach. The sea breeze. The sun. The seafood. The BBQ. The sand. A quality time indeed. My memories are full and sweet.
I feel blessed.

The Home Terminology

Finally, i received the keys to my new home. Woohoo!!! Just bought a similar glass bowl sink last night.

The next things that i'm looking for:-

1) bunk bed for the first guest room

2) kitchen cabinet- wism me luck on this one. The designer will come to my home on this 31st december.

3) tv cabinet

4) chandelier

I'm not planning to go to ikea at this moment. Perhaps i'll just look around all the nooks and crannies of other alleys and look out for shops with the best bargain. This will be fun for me to explore my imagination.

All i need now is money.

My top 6 favourite cartoon

My top 6 favourite cartoon! Yeah, i'm 25. I never been ashamed to admit my age but just by looking at all the 18,19 years old contestant from America Next top Model, i fell kinda old. Bah......

No.6 - Meet The Robinsons

I didn't have any high expectations when i first saw this movie. I thought it will be forgettable. But after watching this movie, i actually kinda enjoyed it. As any other cartoon it did bring a heavy message for the audience. " Keep Moving Forward" and never look back. It has a twist in the end that will make all the questions inside your head answered.

My favourite character:

Goober

He never get enough sleep and always whining, in a cute way. I have the urge to just hug him and say that everything will be just fine........

No.5- A Bugs Life

this movie was not my 'love at first sight'. I only appreciate it after watching it for a few times. An ordinary semut ant with a extraordinary mind. Unfortunately, the others (ants) who are so interwined with the norms are not able to accept and understand him.

My favourite character.

The Grasshopper.

mmmh...... I kinda like anti-hero sometimes. Authoritative and bossy. High in self-confident. When he fly, the the wings will flap like the sound of the helicopter. Cool.

No.4- Spirited Away

A girl named Chihiro stumble upon a mystic world full of ghost and 'creatures'.

The curse placed upon her parents had force to work at a bath House control by a powerful witch named Youbaba. Youbaba's face also gives me the nightmare. *Shivers*

Not a 3D movie but the storyline, music and scenery is beyond your imagination.

My favourite character:

That little black thingy that is light and floaty like cereal.

No.3- Monster Inc.

With the tag line "We scare because we care" is one of the most original idea for a movie i had ever seen. This company generated energy for the city by 'collecting' the screams of children from all over the world. The employee is of course a monster like Sully or affectionately known as Kitty by Boo. One of the hilarious part when they think that children (plus their clothes and everything) is harmful to monster. So just imagine the havoc that they create when a particular monster accidentally brought a small children socks into their world.

My favourite character:

I guess we will never know her real name but they called her Boo because she likes to boo people in the hope that they will get frightened. Unfortunately (for her), she is too cute, cuddly and sneaky and and i just feel like i want to squeeze.................... her.

No.2- Finding Nemo

A story that reminds you about Fathers Day didn't really caught my attention at first. Well, i'm wrong. This movie is awesome with some funny phrases like " He touched the butt! (boat)".

My favourite character:

Dory! Her motto : "Just keep swimming, just keep swimming, swimming, swimming" has shown how positively optimistic she is until some people fish starts to get annoyed with her. Full of sunshine personality with big honest eyes. The voice of Ellen DeGeneres for a fish with short term memory loss. You will pity and love Dory at the same time.

No.1- The Emperor's New Groove

Hilarious beyond outer space. Watch it, buy it, steal it! This humble cartoon is perfect. The story about an emperor named Kuzco who turned into an Ilama after drinking a potion made by Yzma (an ugly century old witch) and his crazy journey to turn back into a human.

My favourite character:

Emperor Kuzco- The voice of David Spade has bring this character to live. Self-centered, selfish, 'It's all about me' attitude has made me kinda had a love hate feelings toward him.

Bookworm

At last, i had found the book i've been looking for. The Last Empress. Woohoo! Only RM29.90 for a hardcover book.

But for those who are interested, it is advisable that you read the first series of the book- Empress Orchid. So when i went to China last time, i was am fascinated by the history of China's rulers. The last empress of China- CiXi was described as a 'curse' and the main factor that lead one of the oldest monarchy ruler to collapsed.

I was quite reluctant to show the picture because her face just gives me the creeps. (no offence). You thought as a concubine, she will look like this- demure, dainty and petite. Can't blame me though, i watch too much chinese movie. (Alasan)

Sweatbetul punya kawan

She look like this leh...... (the one under the umbrella). Nevertheless, she is a prominent figure in China's history.

I'm reading other books as well. Bought this 2 book with a 10% discount. It's been so long i haven't read a historical romance book. (Guilty pleasures). Picked a novel by Judith McNaught innocently until i went to look for it at the Internet and found out that this book has bring a lot of controversial issues- Rape, abusive relationship. Mmhhhh......

This is the first time i'm reading a book from Jodi Picoult. The storyline is interesting and i am actually curios about the traditions of Amish people.

Ok tata!

Social butterfly

A loner:

Which isn't bad, but you prefer serenity and quietness over loud noices, you rather spend time by yourself or with a small group of friends, at school your shy and hard to make friends with but when you actually become friends with someone, you are very dependable and listening.

Source: I don't know, just saw this on the internet.

I'm a loner. I can accept that fact but some people can't seem to understand it.

People drain me because i like to think. Because I prefer to observe from behind rather than be in the limelight.

But that doesn't mean i'm boring or ordinary. I choose whom i like to befriend with.

What you see in this blog are just the things that is in my head and heart. I might never say it out loud or in front of friends. I am not talkative. I prefer to shy away from social gatherings.

Friends is a countable 'noun' for me. I can just name a few. But i like it this way. I enjoy 'me alone time'. So, can you just please leave me alone?

I can also own a Mini Cooper, if i want to.

Financial matters have been one of my favourite subject. Currently, my friends are changing their car into a ‘higher status’ e.g. from Myvi to Vios. You get my point. They had been asking me why i haven’t join the bandwagon yet. I just smile and say i did think about it. Of course i did think about it. But i do have a different definition regarding the value of MY money.

Before i buy things/stuff, i will think whether it will bring any value for me or not and in accordance with what i think is important in my life. Do bear in mind that what i assume as value to my money might differ from what you assume as value for your money. All of us are brought up in a different background with various opinions regarding financial matters.

Case Study- Cars vs House/Home

I saw a Mercedes Benz around the apartment i’m renting right now. The apartment i’m staying is just a so-so place but not that bad. I was shocked to see a luxurious car in that area.

Assumption (about her)

- It was her bapak punya car. (The owner was a female)
- She bought it. Second hand.
- She works with the government.
- She is afraid to stay alone at home. Thus staying with a bunch of friends in that apartment.

Facts (about me)

- If my dad is rich and allowed me to drive his Benz, i would ask him to pay for my rental in
a more comfortable and spacious terraced house.
- If she is working and bought the car second hand. You and i know well know that Benz is
still expensive even though it’s not brand new. I’m not sure about the series but i can bet
my nose that it will still be around RM100k-RM200k. (The Benz is not the 1990s model.)

She (The Benz owner)

- Willing to pay at least RM2K for the car
- Will to pay RM200 for the room. (RM600 for the whole apartment- kongsi ramai-ramai
dengan kawan)
- Therefore, she puts more value towards her car.

Me (The kembara owner)

- If i was in her shoes, i would ask only for a Myvi. (RM5++ every month) It doesn't matter
whether it's from my dad or i buy it myself.
- BUT i would stay in a terraced house or a luxurious condo/penthouse. (RM1k to RM2k)
per month.
- Therefore, i put more value towards my home (Privacy and comfort)

See how our value differ from each other? I never say that i am right and she is wrong. That is why i never really wanted to change my car although i can easily buy a Vios or Honda City. (Car price within my budget range) Because i prefer to stay alone in a comfortable home without the need to fight with my housemate regarding cleanliness, food etc.

Most of my colleagues are staying in quarters while i am moving into my new permanent home soon. So stop pressuring me to buy a new car, for i have other priorities in life.

Notes:

During the previous Raya, there had been an issue about how some distant family likes to evaluate and judge us by the car we drive. So the issue of value for my money had been running inside my head for quite some time. until one day i saw the Benz in front of my apartment and this whole thing just come out of my head into a more systematic and understandable (does this word exist?)err.... data.

At last, i found the car that my dad used to owned when i was young. So...... 1980s. Nissan Fairlady Z series, sky blue in colour. It was not my favourite car because it was 'low' and i feel dizzy inside it. And the 2-door concept just turn me off. I still prefer my dad's Toyota Land Cruiser. The bad side of it? During banjir season, i can always go to school. Because 4WD can simply cruise along the shallow waters. I secretly envy my classmate who didn't come to school because of banjir excuse. Bah............ T____T

I wish

Aku juga ingin menjadi cool macam dia.

To be alive

People can be very harsh and judgemental towards your personal life. When sometimes all you need is just time and space

to breathe

to heal

and

to think

deeply.

My melancholic smile

It started harmlessly, when i was eating at Kenny Rogers. They played all the 90s songs that made my mind somehow travel back into my childhood memories. Suddenly, i felt tears in my eyes. Perhaps one day i can accept it and talk about it. Happy moments, sad moments, and definitely bittersweet moments. I felt melancholic until today. Usually i'll listen to Binocular -Deep, but today i feel like listening and repeating The Man Who Can't Be Moved song from The Script.

My mind who can't be moved.
