9 to 5- A number with no good chi.

I've been reading Yahoo Hot Jobs and i'm having all the symptoms that i'm not really happy with my job.

You know you're in the wrong career if:

  • It is strictly a means to put food on the table. (Yup, and also bills, movies, travelling, bags, car, house etc)

  • It's just some job you took 10 years ago because, at the time, it was the only one you could find. (A job i took 2 and the half years ago because this is the only one that hired me and coincidentally with more than RM2000 salary)

  • Your parents are proud, but you're bored to tears. (The look on their place was priceless. (I THINK THIS IS THE MAIN REASON I'M STILL IN THIS JOB)

  • Your job makes you unhappy, damages your self-esteem, compromises your values, or undermines your integrity. (Nuff said)

  • You live for the weekend. (Hell yes, I didn't even have Monday Blues back in school days. It just shows how much i enjoyed attending my classes)

I agreed that i have no problem in terms of the job that i'm doing right now. It's just that i don't have as much freedom as i wanted to. The nature of my job is very restricted, dead boring like a piece of ruler. Heck, i think playing with a ruler is much more fun especially if you're a guru disiplin.

It has so many rules and you can't even take leave without any valid reason like you're getting married etc. You are expected to come to office everyday (if you can come on weekends lagi bagus), the only reason why you are absent is because you're dead. T_T I applied for 3 days to go back to my hometown and he dared ask me why i need to balik kampung. Bullshit betul! Pay me back my flight tickets lah. As if the whole office will explode if i don't come to office for three days. Or the Prime Minister will look for me and say" eh where is Jo, i miss her lah. She is so important you know. If she is not around ar we cannot make decision whether we want to send Angkasawan or not to Pluto." (I heard that Pluto is no longer a planet but i'm not sure)

I always believe that sometimes we need to take a one day off just to relax our mind and travelling is also a sort of new experience that you will never get by just reading about it. There' is more to life than your job ok. Old people are so rigid. I've seen many bosses who never allowed their workes to cuti-cuti Malaysia with family and then suddenly they are the one who took a holiday for two weeks to London during winter time with their family. Pffft. So the rule is your boss can cuti, YOU cannot. When there's an official meeting overseas, only the high ranking bosses can go. But you are the one doing all the shit job for them.

Argh.........................................................

ok got to go. Got a lot of work to do. And yes i'm blogging from my office. HAHAHA!
