Sempurna (Perfect)

I heard this song on the radio. Sempurna by Andra and the Backbone. It's a soundtrack for an Indonesian movie Love. Well the song makes me feel all mushy mushy inside.

Mmmh.............. it feels like "I'm in love."...............

Emo Me

Last night, i couldn't sleep. i've been thinking. thinking very hard. For the two years i've been working. this is the first time i've worrying about money. Not that i don't have any but i need to learn how to spend it wisely. Because the problem is i am such an impulse buyer (bad bad me).

**********************************************************************************

There is something bothering me these few days. I went to the international book fair the other day and my friend told me that this girl is angry with me. She said i am sombong, berlagak bla bla bla. This girl is the one i saw at carrefour a few months back. Not that i didn't want to talk to her, it just that i had a feeling that she doesn't like me much although we have been friends for the past 3 years.

First of all, i think she is intimidated by me. (Even if i did, thrust me it's not on purpose). Actually my point is, back in university, i face a lot of peer pressure. And i know all of us face it back in school days too. That girl didn't like the fact that i like Blink 182. I can still remember the conversation we held 2 years ago.

Girl: why do you like rock song? It's crap and noisy.

Me: well at least most of the songs lyrics had meanings (about life, failure etc) not just love song.

Girl: Can you change into other different genre.

Me: (In my mind) HELLO......!! you think i am 6 year old kid ar?! with no choice of music yet.

Me: No, this is what i like.

Me:Why? did i ever pasang it too loud that you cannot sleep. As far as i know, not even my roommate had heard my songs before. (I'm wearing earphone)

Girl: No lah

Me: So you listen to siti nurhaliza bla bla also no use, the lyrics are all about love too...

Girl: sengih macam kerang

Me: satisfied face.

Another situation:

Girl2: wah you are so berlagak? want to bring beg tarik-tarik. (trolley bag)

Me: (In my mind) uhhh, like this also consider berlagak ar? I thought bag is just a necessity.

Me: Have you been to KLIA? Do you know how far it is to go to point a to point b in KLIA? Tarik sampai tangan pun tercabut.

Girl2: sengih macam kerang busuk.

Me: Satisfied face.

This girl2 never even been on a flight before. And you think you have the guts to tell me that i am berlagak just because i have those kind of bags.

this girl1 really think that i have no identity is it?! I never NEVER even preached my taste of music is much better just because i listen to rock music. Music is universal and it depends on your personal taste. Why are you making such a fuss about it?

this girl1 even comment about my style of dressing. Then i asked her back, why am i walking around naked? No? That it's none of your business.

BODOH, stupid, moron!

I really hate bodoh sombong people!

When i first enter my uni (a local one), some of the students thought that people from sabah and sarawak are backwards, jakun bla bla bla. They thought that people like us from Borneo never seen the outside world before. They imagine we live in rumah panjang with all the culture thingy you see on tv recarding tourism.

They were actually surprised that i am good in english. I got anugerah dekan ok. And i am not intimidated just because i am different from them. And i am not afraid of being alone. (eat alone, go to library alone) they are irritated because i don't need them but they NEED me.

The most stupid question that people ask me so many times:

Moron: So you are from sabah?

Me: yes

moron: so you go to semenanjung by plane?

Me: No, saya kayuh sampan ke sini.

Oklah not all people are ignorant and moron. Some are open minded. For those who are not as i mentioned above, thank you very much for your wisdom and knowledge, i truly appreciate it that you act like a civilized person.

So you guys out there:

Never be afraid to be different. You like Green Day? It's ok. You like Backstreet song? It's ok too. We are unique just like everyone else.

kung fu movie

Today i found out about two things:

I thought that i will not be poccessed by material wealth/ image. I AM WRONG! I AM ACTUALLY MATERIALISTIC! Sigh..........

I thought that i can live without TV. I AM WRONG! I NEED TV! I BORED WITHOUT IT! Sigh..... not that i don't like to read. Been reading azizi ali millionaires book. (Please refer to point 1, yes i want to be rich. No, not rich. ermm..... having financial independence)

I watch Forbidden Kingdom yesterday. Been a fan of Jet Li since i was small. I even ask my parents to send me to China to learn shaolin kungfu, but my dad didn't agree.

I like the fact that:-

  • it's a combination of jackie chan and jet li
  • it's a kungfu movie

I thought that:

  • it's a chinese movie
  • will be a serious movie (you know, death, war, sacrifices like the the warlords)

Those who see it will probably be shocked that: ( please choose one)

  • it is NOT a Chinese movie
  • it is a HOLLYWOOD movie

I actually enjoy the movie. But i am amused by the fact that:

  • english is widely spoken. yes i know lingua franca bla bla but can you imagine the Gods, sami, even su lu kung are speaking english.
  • an english boy was picked/destined to give back that senjata. reminds me of the sejarah thing about white men burden.

I will enjoy it MORE if:

  • they speak in chinese. put subtitle lah...
  • the boy is eaurasian. part chinese part orang putih. The boy doesn't really connect to his chinese side. So he will learn more about his ke- chinese-san.

Not that i didn't like hollywood movie. but you know kungfu is not just a martial art. it's an art. (i hang out with the guys from wushu club in university) most non-chinese lack the 'graceful' part. They only fight, fight, emotionless....

All in all, i still enjoy the movie. Can't wait for indiana jones. I wish my life was as adventure as that. and also the journey to the centre of the earth 3D. I am such a sucker for adventure movie.

I DON'T THINK MICKEY MOUSE IS CUTE ANYMORE (AND ALSO MINNIE)

They have been poo pooing around my house. Arghhhh......!! Thinking that the mouse (i'm forgot the name, sam is it?) can actually cook makes me go yuck, and geli.

The Target: mouse/mice is my house

The tukang capture: my mum

the photographer: me

the killer: ehem ehem

the EVIL plan: put the glue on a piece of board, put some food on top of it. When he eats it, his leg will stuck. HAHAHAHA *evil laughter*

You better wish me good luck and my plan Z better work. or else, i will join the United Plankton! (yes... you know what i'm talking about...... i know you guys secretly like spongebob)

********************************************************************************

Around the world in 80 days

Nicolekiss has been planning to go around the world for two years. Feel like doing it myself but nah.... money is more important to me right now. need to pay my bills, cars, house. Thank God i have a secure job. The thought of no money (not poor) makes me shiver.

It was ok to ask for money when you are a kid or studying. But there comes a point in your life that you feel that you are the one who should give money to your parents and not asking money from them. Perhaps the peter pan side of me had already grown up.

But the fun and excitement of thinking where you will be going next seems well..... fun And it smells like freedom to me. *sigh*

But it's ok, while i'm doing my job like crazy right now, i know that my work will make me earn a good life. i'm planning to buy a new house, a new car, paying my ptptn. (urgh). i know it sounds boring, but i will try to travel at least twice a year. So i'm pretty happy with my life actually. I can travel AND i can earn money for a living. Why choose either one when you can have both?

My next travel destination: Bali or Thailand? or maybe europe???

The North City

First time went to overseas during winter season. Used to angan-angan wearing the winter clothes like the Winter Sonata drama. Heh, i even bought a SHOCKING PINK gloves and i didn't even like pink. I'm not sure where to start, so many things to show and talk about. Well, i'll show you the pro and cons of being in beijing.

Pro:
  • nice weather- i mean they have four season. not like us- hujan dan panas sepanjang tahun (from my geography form3 textbook)

  • fastantic ancient civilisations- chinese are smart, determined

  • all the place are mostly beautiful and scenic

  • nice sense fashion- the clothes sold at the pasar or shopping complex are funky

Cons:

  • the people are rude. well not all... but taking in consideration that i am communicating in mandarin. i don't know what will happen to those who don't speak chinese.

  • the food argh... the food..... no offence i like chinese food. but eating in everyday makes me crazy. Malaysia's food is still the best. Fo once will should thank god we are mix culture if not we will never taste teh tarik etc.

  • the worst kopi ais/kopi nai ping ever- even the milo uargh...

  • because they ONLY drink chinese tea

p/s: oklah my mandarin was not really that good. The pronouciation was quite different from us in malaysia & singapore. On the second day, i can already speak like some taiwan drama. Ok... pictures.......

At first sight you will think that this is a temple. but it's not. this is a mosque called niu jie.

The great wall of china was HUGE. The stairs are HUGE. My stamina= not HUGE.

this is cow. chinese like to eat cow. this cow was actually found at the bottom of the pond at summer palace. The king gave it to god to ensure that the place will not be flooded.

check out the ice on the pond! Summer palace is the official garden, taman for the king and quuen during those days. no one could enter it.
